Beautiful work. I love your mix of gentle curves with straight lines. They seem easy on the eye, which perhaps belies what they are capable of doing. I really like what you did with the arms, feet, head and chest, in a combination of shapes that is humanoid of course, yet not a straight up and down framework. Like I said earlier, easy on the eyes since it makes the eye move around. I like how it looks functional and yet artful. From some of the comments I see it stands very tall and given the look, it should work as you described. Something approachable, yet very capable of doing its designed job. As with your other work, I love how you think it through.

Thank you! Police officers have always been the good guys for me, I'd want that to be the case in the future too.

Very impressive, what is the poly count on this model?

It's still 100% zbrush sculpt so no idea, a lot.

Awesome, how did you get the illustration look from the render?

Just different render settings and photoshop post processing.

Awesome, one day if you get the time you should do a tutorial, it looks like a great illustration!

I'd want to, but rendering especially with lightcaps is such a huge thing to explain and my settings never stay the same so we'll see =P

Gonna offer some constructive criticism. IMO, police robots should look intimidating. This just looks...goofy. Really goofy.

These guys patrol around the streets and people with problems come and approach them so they can't be scary. And if some illegal activities need to be stopped, who cares how they look when they're over 2m and 300kg. I have a very finnish perspective on police forces =P

Special forces and riot police, now that's a different story and I need to do those someday.

Do you come up with these completely out of your head when you sculpt them or do you design them and sketch them out first?

I usually have at least a vague idea in my head so I can move straight to sculpting. Also sketching in ZBrush is very useful since you can see what works and what doesn't much easier in 3d than 2d.
