I couldn't seem to get the rimlight to go behind the thing. I played with it for a while, and then eventually just gave up and did everything else.

Most ZBrush lighting tutorials cover rimlights too, I recommend finding some. Might be easier to understand from a video :)

I held Ctrl to get the help pop-up, and it says to hold the Alt key while dragging over the sphere. I did that, and... It still doesn't seem like there's a second light there. I'll look for more stuff about it. The other adjustments you listed here do make the render look way better though, overall.

awesome... i kind of want to get started with 3d stuffs..i've got the wardhware for it... i dont want to go into crazayy detail..but err is PSD +Zbrush a good combo? i wouldnt need anything else? i.e. generatd 3d in Zbrush..then just dump it into photoshop?? yaa?

It should be in the top bar -> render. I'm using 4R5 but it's still the same.
